Tectonic is an architectural practice with a focus on community-based work.

We love working as part of an integrated design team with our clients and consultants to develop projects which address the needs of our community.  We are proud to be members of the Black Business Association of BC and a certified supplier of CAMSC (Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council) and our architectural team has experience working on private residences, non-profit, institutional and commercial renovations as well as new construction.

MEET THE TEAM

MARGUERITE LAQUINTE FRANCIS

Marguerite is a Registered Architect and was formerly the Principal of MLF Event Architecture.  She is an elected member of Council of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia and has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.  She is currently pursing one in resilient and adaptive design.

Her architectural experience spans over 19 years in project management, damage assessment, healthcare, sports facilities, major events, retail and residential construction.

She is valued for her skill in leading client and consultant teams through high profile, complex projects.

Robyn Fenton

Robyn Fenton is a Registered Architect who was formerly the Principal of ReForma Architecture.  Recognized for her skills of cooperative leadership and facilitation, she works with her clients to create practical, resilient, and durable solutions to meet their needs. 

Her architectural experience spans over 19 years in residential, institutional and commercial projects in the private, corporate and government sectors. Her knowledge and experience in community engagement, design thinking, sustainable design, post-disaster building assessments and emergency management bring an innovative, creative, and diverse perspective to all her work. 

Robyn has training in conflict resolution, facilitation and community engagement including IAP2 Effective Public Participation. Speaking engagements include talks on engagement, resiliency and recovery, and the architect’s role in post-disaster response.

Cameron Maltby

Cameron brings over thirty years of experience in residential, education, health care and commercial projects in the private and public sectors. He has received training in Passive House design and construction through Passive House Canada and strives to bring a higher level of energy efficiency, sustainability and durability to each project he is involved with.

Ciara McCormack

Ciara is a CAD Technician with experience in graphic design, commercial and residential architecture.  She is a graduate of University College Dublin, where she focused on her passions for user centric architecture, sustainable design and socially responsible architectural practices. We’re excited to welcome Ciara to Canada and to have her as part of the Tectonic team.
